Innovative patching service launched by Tripod Crest

A new patching service has been launched by Tripod Crest which offers labour, plant and materials and can quickly and efficiently deliver up to 10m2 of asphalt.

This unique new combination of plant comprises a bobcat with various attachments and a hotbox device. The process works with asphalt being collected locally in a hotbox, which stores the material at the correct temperature once delivered to site. It is then laid by operatives using a specially designed bobcat attachment that dispenses the asphalt to meet the required tolerances. This replaces the need for handlaying.

The benefits include the use of less material and a better quality result, which means the road lasts longer and ultimately saves money.

Operations manager Mark Paillin believes the new patching service will meet with high demand: “The road literally looks like it has been ironed after our gangs have done a job with the new kit and the first customers to receive it have been absolutely delighted.”
