Apprentices in action

Tripod Crest’s four apprentices are thriving. Not only are they learning huge amounts and developing new skills as individuals, they are also making a great contribution to the business. In this latest video, Jake Hankins talks about how he has started working night shifts.

Tom Astle runs through all the vehicle maintenance he is currently involved in and Megan Young, who works in the commercial team, explains what she does day to day. Along with Tommy Wing, these young people are bringing a real energy to the business – with an appetite for learning that is great for our customers and great for the industry.

All the apprentices have college courses in their schedules now, alongside on the job training. Courses for the workshop team have included hydraulics, pneumatics and electrics so far with small plant and welding next on the agenda.

Managing director Darren Stokes is delighted with the progress being made by the apprentices and is already looking to recruit more, alongside our trainees, which is another source of new talent. Darren says: “Investing in the next generation of skilled, best in class workers is critical to the future of the business and something that I personally feel passionately about. We have always been committed to training, last year we ran over 28 courses in total, attended by 362 people. But we want to do more! And that goes for apprentices as well as our many employees with long service.”
