With 25+ professionals from companies across the industry actively involved, we are very well served in terms of expertise to draw on,  the challenge is to make sure that we come up with a plan of action as quickly as possible and actually make things happen!

A smaller working group has been set up to discuss the  priorities which include agreeing the scope and objectives of the training, delivery and ensuring that it has a robust structure that can be rolled out across the road surfacing industry. While we need rigour around the content, we need flexibility around delivery with options for in-house, day release, block release or distance learning. Funding is another area that needs to have different solutions, while assessment procedures and personnel, need to have very fixed perimeters. That is just the tip of the iceberg! We have a lot to discuss but there is already a strong sense of commitment as well as enthusiasm from all parties involved. It may be the start of the journey, but it is going to be an interesting ride and we know where we are going!
