Health and Wellbeing – We regard the safety and wellbeing of our employees, supply chain partners and third party stakeholders to be of paramount importance during the planning and execution of our works. Our employees benefit from an Occupational Health Screen programme and robust initiatives to address the risk of fatigue due the nature and timing of our works. We assess the health and wellbeing systems of sub-contractors that form our Approved Supply Chain Database and monitor their performance to ensure there is an aligned culture in the protection of the workforce.

Safety – The safety of our operations is controlled through the competency and experience of our managers and supervisors, who are responsible for establishing a safe working environment for our employee and supply chain partners. Comprehensive training creates a skilled and competent workforce who implement safe systems of work that have been developed in conjunction with our clients; thereby meeting the requirements of the CDM Regulations 2015. Given the diverse nature of our operations, our employees are conversant with the Behavioural Safety campaigns operating across the highways and construction sector; and we actively contribute to these initiatives to support the reduction and ultimate elimination of lost time incidents. Our Safety Management Systems are have been independently assessed through the Safety Schemes in Procurement (SSIP) initiative (Tripod Crest is CHAS and Worksafe accredited) and the Avetta supply chain pre-qualification service.

Quality – Delivering high standards of workmanship is a key focus area for Tripod Crest. Our asphalt surfacing operations are accredited to the National Highways Sector Scheme 16 standard; demonstrating the quality of our management systems for planning and delivering bituminous surfacing works on the Highways England and Local Authority road network. Our employees worked collaboratively with our clients to ensure the standard of work is to the required specification and also to the expectations of the asset owner. We operate robust controls for the ordering and manufacturing of bituminous products and ancillary materials to ensure our works are delivered right first time.

Environment – The protection of the environment and enhancement of sustainable benefits are key focus areas for Tripod Crest. We protect the environment by selecting the right construction methods and materials that causes the least impact. We have in place the right inspection and contingency measures that eliminate the risk of accidental spillages or contamination of the environmentally sensitive areas. The same approach is adopted to deliver our works in a considerate manner, taking account of the potential impact of noise, dust and light pollution when working within urban communities. Finally, we operate sustainable working practices that reduce our overall impact on the environment. Examples of these are the local recycling of planing aggregates collected from our operations; through to initiatives to reduce vehicle carbon emissions as part of our FORS (Fleet Operators Recognition Scheme) Bronze Accreditation.

We continuously review the effectiveness of our Integrated Management System to ensure it is supporting the achievement of our HSEQ objectives; and the aims of our clients.
